Eid Ul Fitr is a Muslim religious Festival that marks the End of the holy month Ramadan. Eid Ul Fitr Means “Festival of Breaking The Fast”. Ramadan Ends with the festival of Eid Ul Fitr. Eid Ul Fitar is the first important Islamic celebration festival. On the day of Eid Ul fitr Muslims dress up in their finest clothes they got, decorate their homes, give special treats to children, and visits their friends and family homes to share the happiness of Eid Ul Fitr. Muslims fast during the month of Ramadan. Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic Calendar. In Islam lunar calendar are used which means every month starts with the sightining of new moon. The difference between lunar calendar and solar calendar is 11 days. From all over the world around 12 million Muslims which includes around 8 million in North America keep fast during 30 days of Ramadan. The focus of Ramadan is on self sacrifice and devotion to Allah.

Eid prayer Must be performed in congregation. The Prophet Mohammad (SAW) ordered women of all ages including those who were menstruating to come out for Eid gathering even though it is well know that those who are menstruating are not supposed to pray. There it is clear that the intention of the Prophet (SAW) was to stress that no one should be prevented from participating in the joyous experience and celebration of Eid. Therefore it is clear that women should come out from their homes in order to perform Eid prayers in the mosque. This is the Sunnah of Prophet Mohammad (SAW).
